Having lost Von Wafer, panic buttons were being pressed in Shanghai but somehow, the Sharks have rebounded in the best possible way; by signing Quincy Douby. Credit to GM, Eric Zhang, because this is a huge move that not only saved the Sharks’ season but actually made them better from a roster stand point.
The former Sacramento player is an elite player at the CBA level, having averaged 31.6ppg in his first two season in the league. As a passer, he can link up well with his team mates and he can also famously shoot the lights out as shown by his shattering of the CBA single game scoring record with a haul of 75 points against Shanxi. Along with Liu Wei, the Sharks retain their top-five backcourt status even though Wafer has had to return to America. Along with Darnell Jackson and Zhang Zhaoxu, this is a seriously good mix of scoring options.
The guard was picked up off D-League team, the Sioux Fall Skyforce two days ago and has since arrived in Shanghai. He may even be ready to play for the Sharks in Wednesday’s game with the Bayi Rockets.
Wow, just wow.
