Where Are They Now: Catching Up With Former Sharks From Around The Globe

The CBA offseason is still in full-effect in China but it doesn’t mean that basketball isn’t being played here. The national team is fighting it out in the Stankovic Cup right now but beyond the shores of the Middle Kingdom, club basketball is being played and given I have nothing else to report right now, it makes sense to check in on some of Shanghai’s old boys.

Ryan Forehan Kelly

RFK, who had two spells with the Sharks, is currently in the finals of Venezuela’s Liga Profesional de Baloncesto, where his Cocodrilos team are currently playing for the LPB championship. This season, Forehan Kelly has averaged 15.8ppg to go along with 4.6rpg and 1.6apg.

Mike Harris

Another two-season man for Shanghai, Mike Harris is back in Puerto Rico, where he has played for several seasons in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. Currently with Leones de Ponce, Harris led the league in scoring (20.2ppg) and was the BSN’s second best rebounder (10.6rpg). Having lead his team to a league best 23-13 record, Ponce are now tied 3-3 in the play-off quarter finals with Capitanes De Arecibo.

DJ White

Currently with the Boston Celtics, White has been used sparingly since his arrival to the C’s. Averaging 2.1ppg and 1.1rpg, the former Shark Fin Hoops player of the season may well find himself getting cut as a result of Boston’s surplus of players following the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn.

Gilbert Arenas

He’s been in the news but not for basketball. Currently playing in the Drew League along with….

Elijah Millsap

A brief member of the Sharks this season, he’s back in LA and also playing in the Pro-Am Drew League tournament.
