With Tsung Hsien Chang checking in, one Shark from last season is already taking his skills elsewhere for the foreseeable future. Feng Tian, the team’s number two point guard had been with the team for two seasons but is now moving to Guangdong and the Foshan Dralions.
Having averaged eight minutes a game last season and putting up 4.9 ppg, Feng was a useful back-up for Liu Wei and started for the team when the Shanghai legend was injured during the early part of the 2011/12 season. However, an increasing packed back court has meant that the minutes will be hard to find and so the Sharks are letting the guard move on to help his development.
Foshan, one of the perennial bottom feeders of the CBA will be happy to take on the youngster as the team looks to turn around its fortunes under new American head coach Joe Whelton.
