Sharks Sign Marcus Landry

Following the injury to Ryan Forehan Kelly on New Years Day, the Shanghai Sharks have moved quickly to sign his replacement, small forward, Marcus Landry, who has spent time on the rosters of the New York Knicks (2009-2010), The Boston Celtics (2010) and most recently with the Phoenix Suns (2011).

Details first started to emerge last night that the former University of Wisconsin man was going to be announced as the Sharks newest signing when a Xinhua writer announced the news on his Weibo page. In the last hour, the Shanghai Sharks website announced the deal had been done . The American will arrive in China on Friday and will be in the roster for the Shark’s visit to Guangsha Lions on Sunday.

The tale of the tape lists Landry at 6″7 and 229 lbs, meaning that the new man will be a powerful presence at the three spot. Between his spells with the Celtics and the Suns, the twenty-five year old played 53 games for the NBDL outfit, the Reno Bighorns where he averaged 17.6ppg, 4.4rpg and 2apg.
