2011-2012 CBA Fixture List Revealed

Ooooooh weee. I’m too lazy to write it out in full but Shanghai start off their CBA Season with three games on the road, starting with Qingdao on November 20th. The first game for the Sharks at the Yuanshan is on November 30th against Guangsha

Suitably spicy home games to look forward to will be the hardly festive, big-city showdown on December 25th when Beijing Ducks to roll into town. Student-smashing boo-hiss villains Bayi Rockets come to Shanghai on February 5th, whilst JR Smith and his Zhejiang chums will be arriving a couple of days later on Feb, 8th.

  1. Hey I just found this site yesterday. It’s awesome. Keep up the great work!

Just a quick question, can you give me an idea what the Sharks starting lineup will be? My guess:

    PG Liu Wei
    SG ?
    SF ?
    PF Tseng
    C Zhang Zhou

Are they going to start Peng Fei on the wing? And Kelly or Harris you think? Or feel free to change my projected line-up

    1. Hey man;

Its difficult to predict how things will work out because the last three pre-season games have been in Zhejiang province with no coverage on the Sharks’ website but I think you’re right on the money with Liu and Zhang.

The more I think about it, Peng Fei will start at SG but then it gets tricky. Harris was a big player for the Sharks’ last season and Ryan is an experienced forward who’se worked with Panaggio back in the US, but the team isn’t going to pay good money to bring Tseng over from Taiwan just to warm the bench. If you put a gun to my head, I’d say it’ll be Harris and Tseng to start with Kelly on the bench but its a seriously tough call whatever way you look at it.

      Roll on Sunday…

ps: Thanks for the kind words, its good to know I’m not the only guy out here interested in Shanghai basketball!

  2. Cool, thanks for the info.

Yeah I’ll be following this site during the season for updates.

I heard Quincy Douby broke his wrist during a Sharks preseason game recently. If you can get any info or report on the game, that would be much appreciated. Although I understand how difficult it is to get preseason info haha.

  3. Thanks, man. I’ll be keeping this blog going throughout the season so there’ll be updates regularly.

I don’t know too much about the Douby situation or the match itself but those fine folk over at NiuBBall do, so I’ll let you read about it for yourself. I’ve attached the original report from Sinasports (the first port of call for any Chinese-based basketball bloggers).
