Trialist Ryan Kelly Signs For Sharks

As anticipated, Shanghai Sharks have moved to sign Ryan Kelly in a move that has not even been announced by the club website, along with its helpful decision not to publicise the results of its pre-season games in Zhijiang eithier (thanks, guys).

Shanghai Daily are reporting that the club have moved to sign thirty-one year old free agent, Ryan Kelly after the former Berkley player impressed during its preseason and was generally an almighty pain in the arse for whoever had to keep him under control during those games. The small forward, also known as Ryan Foreham-Kelly, will be returning to China, having previously played for  Jiangsu Dragons in two different spells, and has also mixed it up Venezuela, Mexico and Croatia. Whilst having little or no NBA playing experience, the 6″6 American has bounced around the D-League, including coach Dan Panaggio’s LA D-Fenders.

Having played a part in leading Jiangsu to the CBA finals in 2004, Kelly, who can also play scoring guard,  will be a cost-effective (by the standards of the Martin et al signings) foreign important that is already familiar with Chinese basketball and will add stability to a reasonably youthful Sharks roster.

  1. Admiring the persistence you put into your site and in depth information you provide. It’s good to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same outdated rehashed information. Wonderful read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

    1. Thanks, man. Sorry for the late reply as well but hopefully you’re enjoying the crazy world of Chinese basketball from afar. If you’re looking for other stuff out the CBA and chinese basketball, have a look at these guys;
